Sincerely, Iris is the moniker of Todd Murray, who plays southern gothic road trip music on a 4-String License Plate Guitar. Todd has played solo for many years and recently started playing with a full trio.

“This song touches on some of the lowest points of my life,” Murray says of the single. “I've almost had to give up my career as a musician a few times now due to injuries. This last year I dealt with some chronic back pain that I thought was going to end my career. Things kind of took a miraculous turn for the better a few months ago and I wrote this song as I was just starting to come out of it. With this song, I was looking back at all the lowest points in my life (injuries, relationships, struggles with depression) and how I eventually pulled through them all. ‘The sun will shine after a hard rain’ - that's the light at the end of the tunnel for me in this song.”

Murray wrote the song and recorded the basic tracks at his home studio (guitars, piano, vocals, backup vocals, shakers, etc.). Chip Hale (Tyler Meacham, Moosetrap) and Jon Chadwick (Jouwala Collective, Space Koi) join on bass and drums, respectively. Hale mixed and co-engineered the song at 6807 Studio A studios in Richmond.

Sincerely, Iris consists of singer/songwriter Todd Murray. He has a sound that can be summed up best as “road trip music.” It’s a style that’s always changing, and always moving along. Whether it be gypsy-esque or like Kerouac's beat up old truck, shaking down the road at midnight, it is at once comforting, and somewhat unknown.
