The brand new album "Love in a Time of Disaster" presents the sounds of Sincerely, Iris fully realized in a band setting. Joined by Chip Hale on bass and Jon Chadwick on drums, the previous stripped-down sounds of Todd Murray are still there: driving percussive acoustic guitar and spooky slide blues played on his 4-String Homemade License Plate guitar. But now, these tender acoustic underpinnings are contrasted against the pile-driving blues rock of songs like "It's Coming Back to Get You Now" and "Love on the Screen."

"Many of these songs were written during the Covid lockdown, but it almost seems like the world has never really gotten back to normal. There's a strange underlying feeling of a world still not quite right," Murray says of the album. The idea of love in the modern age flows throughout. From scrolling through dating apps endlessly (Love on the Screen) to falling in love as the world comes crashing to a halt (It's All Coming Down) with the lyrics: "I can still hear your laughter, just love in a time of disaster," this album asks the questions that we all have. And maybe by at least asking, we can all feel less alone.
